About the lanternfly
The fulgorid genus, Fulgora Laternaria a plant hopper known by a variety of common names in Mexico ,Central, and South America. It is also known as; lanternfly, peanut bug, peanut-headed lanternfly, alligator bug, and snake-headed bug. It is one of the most peculiar insects in the world found mostly in tropical rainforests. The wings span measures nearly 6" making it one of the largest planthoppers in the world. They mostly feed of sap from tree barks and plants.
